Default Why Google will win the smartphone race

An interesting article by John Biggs at Techcrunch today. He says:

Quote:
In the end, Google and Android will own the smartphone market. It won’t happen this year and it may not even happen in 2012 but the day is coming when Android becomes the de facto standard for smartphones.
We all know the android SDK is awesome but one the commentors correctly pointed out is that Apple or any of the smartphone producers will not just site there!

Quote:
Yes in time, but let’s not forget that Apple is not a blind-dog not watching this competition exploded.
Well said.

I fear that Google's efforts with its new mobile (nexus one) and the android SDK may have arrived a little too late. I mean when you say the iPhone, everyone knows its a masterpiece of a phone and anything else that tries to compete usually gets left on the sidelines!

I guess Google is the one that has the best chance of succeeding (overthrowing) the iPhone from the number one spot.

Google forgot to market the nexus one, right now the droid is doing better than the iphone was in its first 74 days (not sure why they checked 74 days) but it is. Its also not by a wide margin! iphone had roughly a million and droid has 1.05 million haha. But it still a win and still going strong
