This isn't exactly a Google Wave project but its more of providing a notification widget/extension for different browsers or even for the desktop like the GMail Notifier - this will be useful (for me at least)!

I think this has been done for the Chrome browser - you can definitely do it for IE browsers though, they need help...in everything...

This is a really good idea if somebody can do it and have some sort of support for most browsers - I wouldn't install it as a desktop app though!
